A look inside the writer’s room

The writer’s room is a space where ideas take shape. It’s where people come together to explore what works, what doesn’t, and what might happen if given the permission to embrace their creativity and imagination.

Every sentence is an experiment. Every idea is open to contribution. It’s part chaos, part collaboration, yet it always leads somewhere exciting.

These half or full-day creative team-building workshops allow your team to step away from the routine of deliverables, inviting them to explore new ideas and embrace out-of-the-box thinking.

Through writing prompts, reflection and conversation, your people get to reconnect with a part of their creativity that isn’t measured by daily output, but by the freedom to be playful, intuitive, and imaginative without pressure.

“I attended a mini workshop with Liam [...] it was amazing what a question and 10 mins of reflection space achieved!

If you want support with your writing, an alternative way of exploring your creativity - or perhaps an alternative to getting lost in social media (!), then check these out!”

What does a creative writing workshop involve?

It’s easy to forget that creativity needs space to breathe. As deadlines pile up, ideas start to feel recycled, and the work that used to come naturally begins to take more effort than it should.

These half or full-day sessions serve as a reminder that creativity isn’t just a job skill; it’s a muscle that needs regular exercise to function at its best.

At a time when many businesses lean on AI to speed up their output, thinking time often gets squeezed. These team-building workshops bring people back to the thoughtful, human side of creativity. The part that takes a little more time, but leads to better ideas.

Each workshop gives your team the chance to write freely, reflect and reconnect with ideas through:

  • Guided writing prompts and warm-up exercises

  • Space to write, share and reflect together

  • Support to explore creative thinking without pressure

  • A set of prompts to take away and keep ideas flowing

  • Facilitation by an experienced writer

These workshops are shaped around your team. They’re designed to refresh the creative minds behind your brand, helping them to slow down, think differently, and return to their work with renewed energy and perspective.

What teams get out of creative writing

Creative writing isn’t just a creative exercise - it helps people think more clearly, critically, communicate more openly and reduce the stress that comes with constant output.

Studies on expressive and reflective writing show it can support focus, self-awareness and emotional wellbeing - all of which help people work and create more effectively.

For your teams, that translates into:

  • Better focus and wellbeing

  • Clearer communication

  • Fresh perspectives

  • Enhanced critical thinking and problem-solving

  • Stronger connections

  • Sustainable creativity

It’s a simple process that gives teams the headspace and perspective they need to feel human again and to work and create more effectively for your business.

The return is measured in better ideas, clearer thinking and creative output that connects more deeply with both colleagues and customers.

How different teams benefit (aka your return on investment)

Every team uses creativity differently, but writing gives each of them something they rarely get at work - time to slow down, think clearly and express themselves without pressure.

  • Marketing and creative teams rediscover curiosity and imagination, which fuels stronger ideas and more original thinking.

  • Sales teams learn to listen and express more authentically, helping them connect with people instead of just talking at them.

  • HR and people teams deepen their empathy and understanding of human behaviour, which makes space for better conversations and healthier culture.

  • Leadership teams gain perspective through reflection and walking in someone else’s shoes, helping them communicate vision and purpose with more clarity.

  • Finance and operations teams step away from logic and structure long enough to see problems differently and find new ways forward.

Regardless of our roles, creative writing and expressive writing help us think better, connect better and create space for ideas to move again.

“These sessions were a standout experience - Liam created a warm, community-focused environment that made me feel comfortable and confident in my writing again.

His support and encouragement reignited a creative spark I hadn’t felt in a while.”

How it all works

Each workshop gives your team time to write, reflect and connect through a series of bespoke guided prompts designed to spark ideas and new ways of thinking.

Prompts are short, structured exercises that offer a clear starting point for writing. Each one leads into quiet time to write, followed by group discussion and reflection. It’s a simple, low-pressure way to get ideas moving and creativity flowing again.

Workshops can be booked as half-day (3-hour) or full-day (6-hour) sessions, depending on how much time your team can dedicate. Both follow the same process - the longer the session, the more space there is to write, share and explore ideas.

Who’s leading your session?

I’m Liam, a creative content writer and writing workshop facilitator with a background in journalism, publishing and marketing.

I hold a first-class degree in Creative Writing and a master’s in Marketing Communications and Branding - a mix that bridges creativity and business.

My facilitation work brings those worlds together. My writing workshops help people and teams use creativity as a tool for expression and communication.

I know how to hold space for ideas, guide creative thinking and help people find the confidence they’ve been reaching for.

I believe writing is for everyone, even those who don’t see themselves as a writer. These sessions give people the chance to explore that  and to rediscover the creativity that makes their work meaningful.
